I have also heard that in some cases iPhone or iPad's screen stops responding on the Home screen, you don't need to panic. In most cases force restarting your iPhone or iPad will resolve the issue. To force restart your device, press and hold the Power (Sleep/Wake) button and the Home button simultaneously till you see the Apple logo.
